Onyx Companion Module

A Bitfocus Companion module allowing for show automation of Obsidian Onyx lighting consoles. I currently maintain the module after completing an extensive rewrite to modernize the codebase and add some of Companion’s latest features.

How I use it weekly

Finding volunteers can be challenging, but making the task of “you have to pay attention for 60 minutes straight, have good timing on the transitions, and you only press a single button eight times” fun is near-impossible. My Sunday AM shows have a single cue per song most of the time, so automating my Sunday AM cuestack with ProPresenter (via. Companion with RossTalk) frees me up to do more coaching time with slides and audio operators instead of making sure the lighting operator is paying attention.
